In Zen Buddhist painting, ensō symbolizes a moment when the mind is free to simply let the body/spirit create. Zen Buddhists believe that the character of the artist is fully exposed in how she or he draws an ensō. So, could I reflect my own character in new development? Well I don’t know about that!

The previous Enso Design website was looking a bit dated and rather awkward in its old design clobber (it was after all developed nearly 4 years ago!), so I decided to give it a complete make-over! However, you know what it’s like tending to your own back garden when there’s a heap of other client work impatiently waiting, not to mentioned dealing with the usual life stuff . So things dragged on for longer than I anticipated, which in a way worked out quite well as it enabled me to take my time and keep coming back to the design with fresh eyes. I ended up stripping back much of my initial design work, ending up with a digital presentation that was simple, natural and I suppose…quite Zen. I really wanted to give the site plenty of room to breathe with clear, contemporary typography and subtle imagery accents.

So here it is! Enjoy.
